| Khao Sok National Park in Southern Thailand is an amazing
place. It is covered by the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world,
huge limestone mountains shooting straight up in the air, deep valleys,
breathtaking lakes, exciting caves, wild animals and much more. |
Khao Sok is a fantastic place to go on vacation. Elephant trekking,
trekking on foot, canoeing and jeep safaris are all possible activities,
which will give you the experience of a lifetime. Khao Sok is perfectly
situated on the mainland between Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak and Koh Samui,
the most popular destinations in southern Thailand.
Khao Sok is well known for its limestone mountains. The highest limestone
peak is 960 m high, but the average height is 400-600 m.

The National Park consists of:
- 40 % foothill rainforest
- 27 % rainforest plains
- 15 % limestone crag vegetation
- 15 % lowland scrub
- 3 % rainforest at 600-1000 m.
The nature here has more in common with the Malaysian forest than
the forest in the north of Thailand. Compared to the forests of the
north the forest in Khao Sok is taller, darker, more humid and evergreen.

Not the worst hotel i have stayed in or the best,the first room offered had neither duvet,mosquito net or mirrors not that i am vain,also a distinct shortage of lighting for reading!!One would need to be fairly fit as it is built on the side of a hill,with a dirty pool.
Breakfast not very good dinner menu average,would i stay there again NO,would i reccommend it NO. |
No problem at all,slight problem that we had too pay in advance,otherwise we could have moved on |

Great place, not sure how it compared to others near by, but we were very happy. Not 4 star, but staff was friendly. Food was good if you ordered off the menu but breakfast lacking some. Room was not perfect but the view made up for it! And it is worth it to go for a 2hr. traditional thai massage. <span style="display:none">[R24 integr.ERR:escaping]</span> |

While the hotel s location offers spectacular scenery (at the base of a towering cliff), we were disppointed with the room quality given the higher price than other hotels located nearby. The mattress was hard, and while the open air shower and toilet were a novelty, sharing them with geckos was less so. We were not expecting open-air toilet/shower in the room type we had booked (Clifftop View) |
