THE
RESIDENCE
It is a small private residence of 5 apartments,
in the middle of a beautiful coconuts plantation, in a private and quiet
area in the upper part of the Island, 400 meters far from the beach
and very close to Chaweng center (shopping, restaurants, bars, nightlife).
Chaweng beach is the most popular and the most beautiful beach of Koh
Samui because the sea is not too deep. It is a huge beach (more than
4km long) of white sand.

At nightfall, Chaweng is
different... you will find some nice bustling pubs, some varied restaurants
and lots of shops open. The Seahorse Residence is the place to
spend holiday with the family or friends. We speak English and French.
You will have access to the private parking and to the swimming
pool.

The Seahorse Residence, Koh Samui, Suratthani 84320 - Review ...
We were searching around on the net before making reservation at Seahorse Res. but could not find any comments/recommendations that made us hesitating.
We finally made the booking for our family (a couple & small kid) hoping the place would be decent and reliable. At our huge surprise, it was not !
1° We were supposed to be picked up at the airport by the residence but we were not.
2° After our arrival at the residence, we were told by the manager, Mr Gerard (a French speaking guy) or Shark as nickname, that he (seemingly) was at the airport and missed us (Samui airport is a very tiny place). He’s shown us the signboard as a format A4 paper with our name by hand writing with a small pen. Quid ?
3° That very same manager knocked on our door the following morning asking for payment of balance of the rental amount. We told him that unfortunately we were not able to make the exchange of cash yet (since he had no credit card system) because with a small kid we could not do quickly much things but promised him to pay the whole thing ASAP.
4° We called him the following morning to figure out when we could meet for the payment (there is no management or reception based at the residence) and were told to give the money to the cleaning lady. We therefore pointed out that we wanted to have a receipt of our payment and to our shock that so-called manager screamed on the phone saying that we were late for payment and even asked for a receipt, if we were not happy we should get out of the residence.
We came to Thailand almost every year but never had to face such insulting situation and bad personality. We were really shocked of such behaviour and impoliteness. After two nights in the residence and although almost half of the stay (two weeks) was already paid, we decided to find another place to stay.
We learnt during our stay in Samui at the Soleil d Asie residence (a great oasis two steps away from the Seahorse) that other couples faced bad behaviour from the very same person.
FINALLY THIS IS A PLACE TO ABSOLUTELY AVOID. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping] |

The Seahorse Residence, Koh Samui, Suratthani 84320 - Review ...
Very good rooms. Full-equiped, spacious.
Good location between Chaweng and Lamai, 5 minutes to the nice beach by foot.
One problem, there are construction works right over the wall of the aparments. |
