Maekok River Village Resort
84 Moo 3 T.Thaton, Mae Ai
Chiang Mai
|
|
|
The Maekok River Village Resort is idyllically located
on the banks of the Mae Kok River with sweeping views across the valley
to the distance forested mountains. The peaceful, rural setting makes
an ideal getaway for those wanting to escape the usual city tourist
traps. For the interested and adventurous the resort also makes an excellent
jumping off point for discovering Northern Thailand.
There are
also numerous activities available at the resort and in the surrounding
area which allow guests to fill their days with a
variety of experiences.
This makes the M.R.V.R. particularly suitable for families. It is no
surprise that the most common complaint we receive from guests is that
they wished they had been booked for longer.
We pride ourselves
on providing the best possible service - all enquiries are
personally handled
by the manager, and we endeavor to make sure that your stay is as perfect
as we can make it and as good as you would wish for. In the words of
one of our guests 'The Maekok River
Village Resort is much more than just a hotel'.

RESTAURANTS
The main upstairs restaurant has been built to afford
full panoramic views of the river and valley and has its own bar. The
menu offers a wide range of Thai and Western cuisine and includes a
children's section. In particular it offers Northern Thai dishes as
well as seasonal 'specials'. Depending on the season much of the fruit
and vegetables come from our organic farm. Room service can be ordered
from the restaurant.

Thai Cookery
- The Course Format
The courses are conducted
in a specially built teaching kitchen with 12 individual and fully-equipped
cooking bays and one Chef's station. Students gather around the
Chef's station for a tutorial and live demonstration of the dishes,
then return to their own cooking bays to prepare the dishes themselves.
The dishes can be eaten for lunch or dinner, with complimentary
rice and mixed fruit for dessert.
- The School staff consist of:
- A senior
hotel Chef - One of our guest relations officers as the Chef's
assistant - One kitchen helper for every 6 students (to assist
with preparation and cleaning)
- The Course Duration
The most popular choice
is for students to enjoy a half-day (three dish) or whole day (six
dish) class. However, it is possible to organize anything up to
a six day course. Students are provided with a comprehensive
recipe book to guide them during the course and which they can take
away with them. On request, a complete range of some 60 or so recipes
can be purchased. The cost per course will depend on number of participants.
Gift Shop
The gift shop is located in the restaurant area. All profits
go into our community project fund to support the local schools and
many of the handicrafts are made by local school children.
