" The
Charming Embodiment of Fine Living "
The Eugenia Estate's
pride, "The Eugenia", is embodied in a late 19th -century colonial-style
house in the heart of down town Bangkok with twelve Suites for travelers
with refined taste.
The Eugenia - an old world style architectural
beauty, charmingly decorated and tastefully furnished, boasts of a distinctive
3-story neo-Victorian building conceived by its owner, Eugene, for those
who seeks to enjoy more than a touch of the Fabled East - long symbolized
by such gems as The Strand Hotel, Yangon, The Grand Angkor, Cambodia
The Eastern & Oriental, Penang, The Raffles Hotel, Singapore, The Galle
Face Hotel, Colombo or The Oriental Hotel, Bangkok, without pledging
their inheritance.
The period decoration even extends to the
bathtubs that were made of hand - beaten copper and aluminum-alloy.
Light switches and light fittings of various vintage as are the four-posted
beds, settees, dressers and desks in all the suites, bring you back
perhaps eighty or a hundred years, or more.
The entire Eugenia
is tastefully appointed in charming period style and it exudes an air
of tranquility and serenity. It harkens back to a more leisurely time
where people of taste sipped tea or coffee and partook of the finniest
delectable under swaying palm trees in a courtyard by a pool, or on
a verandah, on balmy sub-tropical evenings.
The Eugenia was inspired
by one of Eugene's friends, an 83-year-old Vietnamese lady's chic and
sophistication and her sense of gracious living. She could well be the
human embodiment of The Eugenia herself. But her architectural portrayal
- The Eugenia has a 19th century neo-Victorian facade and 21st century
amenities, facilities and appointments within.
As to be expected
of such neo-colonial structures, there is no elevator in The Eugenia
building to preserve its authenticity. We apologize to those who may
miss this mode of conveyance.

The Eugenia, Wattana, Bangkok 10110 - Review ...
This is not a businessmans hotel. This is different. Totally different. This is old, kozy and we can feel the walls tells old history. This is not a boring, regular hotel. This is soul. This is home. The staff is all fantastic - and everybody seems to love this house and the work. Ehh.. this is not work. This is lifestyle. We loved the house and the garden . Food great, but maybe a bit slow. Boring winelist. Free phone. Free minibar . Free, fast WiFi all over for smartphone and laptops/iPads. Maybe location is great anyway? Just stay home . Use the pool. Relax. Great beds. Nice linnen. We are impressed. Long live Eugenia. We will stay again. And again. And again. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping] |
