New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach Pros:Very clean, friendly staff with an attitude that anything can be done, well equiped, large variety at breakfast, beautifully decorated, have a kids menu. Cons: Hilly, so having a 2yr old it was difficult as she needed carrying everywhere. We were put in a cottage right at the top of the resort as far way from pool and beach as possible which was a great pity. If we had known how many steps there were, we would have requested a cottage lower down. The resort is not pram friendly at all due to all the stairs, narrow walkways, stone paths. Most Staff s English was very poor and this made commnunication very difficult at times, although they did their best to try understand our needs. |
Wonderful! Super quick responses to emails, smooth payment system and reliable when organizing things like pick ups etc. Only critizism is that a friend with 2 chn (aged 5 and 14) was interested in going to New Star and I was told by your agent that New Star could not accomodate them in any of their villas or suites or cottages...unless the 5 year old slept in the same bed as the parents!I asked at the resort, and found out that this is not true at all. They have very large suites that can even be made into 2 bedrooms and they can easily accomodate a family of four. In fact, while we were there - we met a family of 5, who said they were comfortably fitting into a villa. Unfortunately, my friend decided to go somewhere else, based on the information provided to us by sawadee. For that reason only, I am giving sawadee 4 out of 5 instead of 5/5! |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach Definitely a beautiful resort. No bad comments can be done, everything was great: the staff (always friendly and smiling) , the room (very spacious) and the location (beautiful beach and 10 minutes away from the noise of Chaweng). I ll surely come back!!! |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach We stayed only two days/one night and really enjoyed the lovely room, the perfect service and the best beach in koh samui. The resort was even nicer than on the photos. Next time we will stay longer! |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach Great location: quiet beach, easily access to Family mart nearby. Great infinite beach and hotel yard, impressive building design. Cottage - better ocean view. Palm - most of them are garden view particularly for palm room in first floor. For those in 2nd floor, some are with better ocean view. |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach We stayed for 5 nights. The beach, pool area and room atmosphere are very clean, relaxing and pleasing to the eyes. We stayed in a Palm Villa and loved the bathroom and bedroom space. The service, though all smiles, was not up to par compared to other 4 star resorts we stayed in during our trip. They are building a resort next door and construction was loud. We asked to move rooms and seemed to be inconveniencing the front desk person. The shuttle to town was sold out when we tried to reserve it. Having to pay extra for internet and the pricey restaurant became frustrating. Also upon check out the somewhat accused us of having taken a bamboo fan from the room that we have never once seen. All in all, stay here for the nice room, pool and beach. Dont expect your room rate to include all the nice service extras. |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach American styled big resort without any Thai atmosphere. Friendly staff wears shorts and Polo shirts. We stayed in a so called Suite room not worth its price: Two Suite rooms at a time are attached by a very thin door so you can hear your neighbours voices. Complete darkening of the room is not possible. The balcony is not very inviting because you don´t have a good view. The two restaurants serve good but expensive food and are two small for the 74 rooms. Besides the resort was not very exclusive because the majority of the guests stayed in cheap palm rooms or small beach cottages (remnants of the old New Star), while the few Suite rooms were mostly not occupied. The beach and the pool were terrible overcrowded like in a Japanese open-air-pool. Fortunately there are still some small exclusive resorts left on Ko Samui, like the Poppies or the Buri Rasa. We don´t like hotel factories like this! |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach the hotel was very beautiful: very clean room and bathroom good breakfast wonderful swimmingpool with very convinient armchairs also on the beautiful beach only the atmosphere in the restaurant is boring -its better to look for another restaurant |

New Star Beach Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach The hotel is new with lively environment. My family enjoyed our stay there. It is very close to Chawang town. It is a small hotel, so there is not much hotel guests. This is perfect for those who seek privacy and quiteness but not isolated. Breakfast: Satisfactory. Not many choices but the quality was good. Staff: Mostly helpful and fiendly. English proficiency is satisfactory, but do not expect too much. We went to the tour desk at 10:30am but the staff was not there. Receptionist said the staff worked at 11am but she did not show up until 12pm. Facilities: No gym and no kids club. The infinity pool is amazing. Very close to the beach. ((3min walk from my room)The beach is clean, quiet and beauitful. However, there is no fish, not even one. :( And the water is shallow. All in all, my family love this hotel and we really miss the place. We recommand this hotel to you. ^^ |
