the weekend at the Samed Cabana Resort was great... the place is really nice, and nice beach... service was OK, the rooms really nice. so overall: excellent place.

A great hotel for the traveller with 3 star price & reasonable facilities great for a family vacation with a big pool on the beach. You will need a taxi to main town area. |

Ao Prao was a very relaxing hotel to stay in during the week, however, at the weekend, a large party arrived for a Karaoke night. We were asked to move away from the only shaded area of the pool to allow for the karaoke setup. This was a midday, despite the the singing not starting until 7pm! This was frustrating when you have a 15 month old child with you. The volume was far to high and kept us all awake until 11pm. My advise to those thinking of booking at Ao Prao, check first that there are no karaoke partys booked for the time you are there. It will ruin your holiday if there is. |

The bungalows were fairly basic but with thai charm. Very clean and staff were both efficient and friendly. Any requests were dealt with immediately and staff could not have been more helpful.There were buggies available at all times to take guests to the restaurant from their bungalows. The swimming pool was very close to the bungalows and was kept very clean. The restaurant only served thai food...no western food at all but there were always BBQs further up the beach.The air conditioned cafe on site was lovely and served coffees and cakes etc but was fairly pricey. The internet was very expensive 300 bahts an hour and was much cheaper outside the resort.I would recommend using a speedboat to get to and from the island rather than the ferry boat which was difficult to board.The beach was beautiful, white sand and clear water. We enjoyed our stay in June 2009. |

If you want to relax on Samet Island, it does not get any better that this. Beautiful room, great service and great seafood. Not overcrowded as the beaches on the east side of the island. |

We had a Beachfront Villa: The houses itself are not luxery but functional. Not only air condiation, but also a mosquito net at the windows, so you can sleep with fresh air. The location and view is definitly the best. Also the beach is clean ideal for sunbath and swimming in ocean. Trees gives shadow on hot days. The breakfast and restaurant are not so good: only few choices for breakfast (mostly english kind). We had had fish in the restaurant for dinner which was defitely not fresh any more - but the papaya salad was very good. Better choose an other resturant on the beach for dinner.
Unfortunately we had a lot of rubbish behind our house and the massage staff did their toilet also there - so we never opened our windows to the back of the house...
Overall: because of the great location and ocean view we may book this hotel again. |

The room is big, but not clean thoroughtly, they do not have any information around the district, no proper taxi can be found and there is nobody on duty after midnight, I wonder what I something emegerency happened...actually the environment is nice, it s close to the Pier to go to Samet but far from Rayong city where u can find something to eat! If you like to find somewhere is real quiet, I will recommand this, but dun expect there is anything else u can find in walking distant, not even 7-11, so be prepared before u get there! |

Good hotel and we had a beautiful decorated room and a comfy bed.
Friendly and very helpful staff.
The breakfast could be a little bit better though (more choices) for such an expensive hotel. |

clean and excellent position next to the beach. The staff at the nearby resturants were extremely friendly and helpful. And the food wonderful. The perfect location for a romantic holiday. |
