Southern Lanta Resort, Koh Lanta Yai, Klong Dao Beach Vi trivdes jätte bra på Southern. Bra läge, fina pooler, fina bongalows (undantag A 11 och A 12, de rekomenderar jag inte, Slitna, och kändes ganska ofräsch) Familjehusen var stora och fräscha. Trevlig och bra personal. |
Fungerade jätte bra! |

Ao Nang Sunset Hotel, Ao Nang This hotel suited us perfectly.
We booked 2 adjoining rooms and a third double room.
The double room that was not connected was massive. The biggest room we had anywhere on our stay.
The adjoining rooms were small by comparison but having said that were actually normal sized hotel rooms, was just that the other rooms was very big. They all had their own private balcony - also good - need somewhere to hand the wet togs.
We were not on the pool side of the hotel. Those rooms woulod have a nice view over the bay - but ours were fine.
Do not stay here for the pool, very small - not a good outlook and the chlorine was full on.
The breakfast content was as you find in Thailand - however was full buffett so you could eat as much as you liked.
The bees that other people mention were not an issue - I liked seeing them, and they stayed pretty much near the bar - except the few that made their way into the jam!!!
Good spot - really close to the front strip as would everything be in AoNang.
Not noisy - no one hassles you outside of the place.
The front desk arranged forward travel for us.
All was good. I would say this place is more than basic, met our needs nicely -not one problem.
email me at Stevensbrett@optusnet.com.au if you want anythign else!!!

Sand Sea Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Bay Sand Sea is on a beautiful beach. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Unfortunately, my attempt to get detailed instructions to get to the resort was not very successful, though we did manage to arrive in one piece, even if we had to emerge from the ocean with luggage on our backs. :) The daytime staff was so friendly and kind, but the nighttime hosts were more difficult to work with. There are plenty of places to eat around the resort, and the pool is a lovely alternative when the tide comes up too high to lay on the sand. Railay Beach is gorgeous and this is a great place to see the view. |
Online booking is easy and Khun Joy was always responded quickly to all my questions. |

Sunda Resort, Ao Nang, Nopparattara A wonderful place!! The rooms are very clean and the surroundings are very natural and peaceful. The pools are clean and lovely. The staff are very friendly and always helpful with every request. Our family had a great time and we hope we can go back soon! Although it is not right on the beach, it is such a short distance to the beach that it was never a problem. We highly recommend this place! |
Easy. No problems at all. |

Sunrise Tropical Resort, Ao Nang, Railay Beach East Sunrise, though a beautiful and quiet resort, is unfortunately in need of some repair considering the price. A few things with our Bungalow: broken shower + very noisy A/C (we had to move); cockroaches in both sealed bungalows; very dirty furniture & furnishings; and an ant invasion (they had to call in a fumigator - and started chipping away at the wood beams with a screwdriver!). The pool was dirty and cold. The apartments are probably a better deal. Breakfast is decent, but make sure to eat your 300B worth. Frankly, were I not here for the climbing, I m not sure why I d go to Railay. It is crowded, dirty, open sewage, food is generally poor and twice the price of the rest of Thailand, often noisy with generator, and very polluted, with 1 stroke longtail boats and open air garbage. Railay is in poor need of infrastructure and community efforts to clean up the place and make it sustainable. If you are a climber, stay on Tonsai, but don t expect the food or quality to be any better. |
Excellent, cheap, professional. |

Sala Talay Resort & Spa, Ao Nang, Nopparattara Beach We were very disappointed with this hotel. It has only been open since December 2008 and already renovation work is being carried out on it to some of the rooms on the top floor. The design of the hotel is very modern and minimalistic and if you didn t know it was a hotel, you would have thought, from looking at the hotel from the road, that it was an unfinished building. There was no proper sign outside the hotel either. Most travellers visiting Thailand like to see Thai style buildings and we were disappointed with this, as we have been to Thailand many times and thought this style did not show off the wonderful Thai culture to travellers from other countries. The design is very poor with flat roofs which cause problems when it rains. We had nearly solid monsoon rain for two days and the roof leaked in reception, behind the reception area and also the restaurant upstairs.
The rooms are very bare because of the design and there is not enough space to store clothing. The hanging space is okay, but there is no proper area (shelves/drawers) for smaller items of clothing. The room we had (Grand Seaview Deluxe) was a good size, but lacked any personality. Fresh bed linen was provided when you requested, as was the same for towels and beach towels.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and were always prepared to assist you, but most of them had very little knowledge of the English language which made things difficult at times and English is a commonly spoken language across the world.
The hotel was very clean, you couldn t fault that at all. The breakfast facilities are very limited in the low season, because the number of guests is a lot lower than in the high season.
The wireless Internet connection was awful and we often could not get connected to the signal as it was so low, so that needs to be sorted out too.
It is called a beach front hotel, but although the beach is just across the road, it is not wide enough to use as an alternative area to sunbathe. The best beach is in the next bay at Ao Nang and there are lots of restaurants, bars and shops there too and it is only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Also it is called Sala Talay Resort and Spa, but there was no spa and they advertise in their brochure as having a kids club, but there was no kids club either.
I hope the hotel does make some changes, otherwise it will struggle to survive. You don t expect to see repairs being made to a brand new hotel and I hope this doesn t put guests off and stop them recommending it to others.
I hope this review assists others when making a choice of their hotel accommodation. |
