Black Tip Dive Resort, Koh Tao, Ao Tanote The Black Tip Dive resort is good choice ONLY for a divers. If you are not keen on diving you have to run during the check inn. The service is realy poor. We moved to the city after one night and nobody asked us why. The resort is at the jungle, even not soil route goes there. The dogs where live at this resort had a better service then guests. |

Lotus Resort, Koh Tao, Sairee Beach Fabulous. Ideal for the traveler seeking day and evening mood at Tao. For 600 baht the standard room was a cottage on stilts. Very aesthetic, well maintained and located. Far above expectations.
Location... adjacent to Lotus bar on Sairee beach... most happening nightlife on the beach in Tao.. is here. Fireshows.. and fun dancing in the bar and the beach with comfy beachside sitouts.
A MUST STAY place for the budget and non-budget traveller.
STAFF: Awesome... we had an issue with the motorcycle and needed help. The guy made calls from his phone. The info. centre is very nice. Friendly people, well aware of all beaches AND speak GOOD english (very important for Thailand) |
Smooth and perfect |

Utopia Suites, Koh Tao, Mae Haad Very nice hotel room. A tiny bit back from the beach but with lovely staff and a nice bar just downstairs. Very close to the boat boat pier. |

Sensi Paradise Beach Resort, Koh Tao, Mae Haad We loved the bungalow, lovely gardens and the position of the Resort on Koh Tao. Our only criticism is the quality of food at the resort restaurant. It is much cheaper and better quality in many local restaurants just up the road. We would have eaten more at the restaurant if the quality and price matched other local restaurants. |
Very helpful and competent. |

Utopia Suites, Koh Tao, Mae Haad DO NOT GO THERE! These people take consumer deception to another level. Look at their website (as of Jan. 2010)......you THINK you are getting a room ON THE BEACH, right? NO, NADA, NEGATIVE, NOPE. When you arrive there, they will try to put you in a room in a hotel 200 feet off the beach, across a road, where you cannot even SEE the ocean. You want your room on the beach as you expected? No problem; just pay them double the rate! Do not expect to get a refund even though they have decieved you. They are nothing but a pack of cheats. A DISHONEST and DECEPTIVE establishment that has no business being on Sawadee.com! |
I have booked many times on Sawadee and have never had a problem. |

Utopia Suites, Koh Tao, Mae Haad We chose this hotel for its proximity to the ferry terminal, intending to stay anight or two. Well we wound up staying 7 delightfull days. Clean, well appointed rooms, especially the suites, right on the beach. Friendly service, good food, close to all ameneties of Mae Haad village. Oh and did I mention great snorkeling? If this place doesn t please you, you should probably stick to camping in the wilds of North America! |
Had my doubts, but worked out fine |
