Boutique Raft Resort, Saiyoke We stayed for 3 nights in one of the Raft Bungalows, and we were very thrilled about the room and the views! It felt very exotic having the river flow right under you! The room was very nicely decoreated and spacious with 2 double beds, and the veranda facing the river with two lounge chairs was amazing. It had both a fan and AC, which came in handy in the 38 degree heat.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
On the downside there were no options to eat anywhere else than at the hotel restaurant, and the food was not very good. It was very bland and non-tasting to be Thai food.
We made two tours , both of which the hotel arranged for us. One to the Tiger Temple, and one longtail boat trip to a waterfall. The tours were quite expensive (around 3000 Baht/tour for 2 persons) and not really worth the money.
It was a very relaxing stay (as there is not much else to do there), and it was very quiet as the only guests were us 2 and a family from Denmark. |
Booking service was excellent! |

Pung-Waan Kwai Noi Resort, Saiyoke The hotel has seen its best times and once I can believe it was a great stay. The river and surroundings where great but the rest was rather poor. If you want to stay here you need a car. Dont expect to much and you need to speak Thai because the staff cant speak english |
Service ok |

River Kwai Hotel, Muang There are not too many hotels in the city area. So, this hotel can be say the best hotel in the city. Hotel is clean, but old. Look like going back to years of James Bond s movie.
Motor bike rental is easy, but car rental is disappointed in Kanachanburi. Perhaps poor business at there. There is only 1 agent, Good Time Travel to handle car rental. |
Perfect. No doubt at all |

Felix River Kwai, Muang, Thamakham Large, clean and friendly resort next to river Kwai. Close to Kanchanaburi town (If you don t mind the treacherous walk over the rail bridge) Staff friendly and helpful, room clean and large but with some niggles (Noisy / broken AC) Breakfast - OK. Buffet dinner - poor. Facilites - good. |
As usual Sawadee are top drawer. Decided to stay extra night, was told by hotel staff had to arrange through Sawadee. One short phonecall later and everything was sorted. We have used Sawadee coutless times over the last 8 years and have always found them fantastic. |

Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai very nice hotel a bit far from the city.
An own transportation is needed.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Very good buffet breakfast
The only negative thing i can say are:
- very bad smelling (we were on the room 109), in the room and outside
- also a nightclub near by very noisy |
perfect as usual |
