Great resort with excellent location and price to match. Rooms have nice views and excellent facilities. Great pool and lounging area. Quite a formal but relaxing atmopsphere. |

Probably best value for money. Beautiful location, stunning rooms and facilities with views overloooking the river. Great pool and lounging area. Quiet and very relaxing. Will always stay here when in Chiang Rai. |

Starbright Hotel, Muang
Very friendly&nice staff. THB 1650.- (incl.ABF for 2) quite pricy but good location, rooms newly furnished, comfortable and spotless clean. But extra THB 500.- for extra-bed (matress on floor) WITHOUT any breakfast not reasonable when promoted children up to 12 years in same room free of charge !

It s a nice hotel, have good swimmimg pool and beautiful garden.The breakfast also has multiplux foods. But the room is too many mosquito. However it s a worth place to live. |

Excellent downtown location. Good breakfast for Eastern and Western tastes. Superior room could do with modernisation, though was sufficient. Water in swimming pool not as clean as it should be. |

Laluna Hotel & Resort, Samambin Road
A good hotel for families - large room with extra bed if needed. Has a nice pool and 24 room or poolside service. The regular restaurant also has a good menu to choose from - Thai and Western. The breakfast was adequate. Staff are friendly and rooms well maintained. The location is good - on the way out of town in a quiet location but still within a few minutes of the town center.
Free Wifi in the lobby and breakfast area. I would say it was a good deal for the price. |

BW Premier Golden Pine Resort & Spa, Muang
Overall it was a good experience. The hotel is far from Ching Rai and is isolated so you have to stay at the hotel or take expensive taxis/tours.
Pros
Rooms were nice, comportable, clean. Aircon, nice bathrooms, comfortble beds, in room safe, free drinking water, two patios, quiet. Nice Thai style.
The grounds were very nice, lots of flowers and green, property well maintained and very beautiful.Lots of fountains, bridges, fruit trees.
Staff was good, minimal english but enogh to get by. They were friendly, helpful, good service.
Lots of things to do at the hotel - restaraunt with good live music at night, a nice fill service spa (but expensive), nice big pool, cooking classes and sightseeing tours (also expensive).
Cons
Both the breakfast and evening buffets were limited, western food only and monotonous. It would be good to add some Thai food to the offering or some variety.
The staff was helpful but not very knowledgeable about local sightseeing.
Food service at the fool was difficult. I had to go into the restaraunt to ask. The nice pool bar was never staffed.
The jacuzzi was broken.
Overall, a nice Thai experince in a comfortable, relaxed, beautiful setting with good service and a lot of amenities. |

Du Doi Suay Resort, Measai
Very nice quit natural resort with beautiful mountain views. But you are in the middle of nowhere. I was the only guest. It is hard to find someone at the resort (and in this region) who speaks English but everybody did the best to help me. You definitely need a car or a motorbike. The next village is 7 km away. Clean rooms with Thai-TV. |

A fantastic high quality surprise. The suite we had is fantastic. Spacious, comfortable stylish and a super view - even from the bathroom. Spa with a view. WOW!
The staff are friendly and efficient and even adjusted when we had to change flight arrivals. |
